Notes: 雪峰 Xuefeng, Snow Peak is located southwest of Fuzhou. It is a pretty one hour drive up the Min River past vast white sandy river beaches, by the aptly named town of 白沙 Baisha, then a right turn north for another half hour, climbing up a jumble of mountains on a torturous road, past an isolated village with a large white tiled Christian church, eventually arriving at the main gate to the 雪峰寺 Xuefeng Temple on the slope of Xuefengshan. This is the temple founded by 雪峰義存 Xuefeng Yicun, in the Tang Dynasty, mid 800's.
