An Outing in the Rain to Merciful Guanyin Hall in Tianzhu Monastery
        Su Shi 1036-1101

As the silkworms mature
and the wheat turns half yellow,
On hills in front and hills behind
    rain pours down.
Farmers abandon their plows,
    girls leave their mulberry baskets,
While the white-robed goddess
    stays in her lofty hall.

Cán yùlǎo, mài bàn huáng,
Qián shān hòu shān yǔ lànglàng.
Nóngfū chuò lěi nǚ fèi kuāng,
Báiyī xiānrén zài gāo táng.
