白居易

Fierce Heat
Bai Juyi 772—846

On the Zen Room of Master Heng-chi

Everyone rushing like mad to flee the heat--
only this Zen Master never budges from his room.
Could it be that heat doesn't reach a Zen room?
When mind is stilled, the body will be cool.

Kǔ Rè

Rénrén bì shǔ zǒu rú kuáng,
Dú yǒu Chánshī bù chū fáng.
Kě shì Chán fáng wú rè dào?
Dàn néng xīn jìng jì shēn liáng.
