Taking Leave of the Flowering Trees I planted on Eastern Slope, # 1
Bai Juyi 722-846

Two years tarring in this river town,
its plants, trees, birds, fish, all dear to me.
But where do I turn my eyes most often, most fondly?
To peach and damson planted on Eastern Slope, just sarting to be fine.

Cǎo shù qín yú jìn yǒu qíng.
Héchù yīnqín chóng huíshǒu?
Dōngpō táo lǐ zhōng xīn chéng.
