Rainbow Rock Bluff
       Wu Weiye 1609-1672

Stone precipice
        a thousand perils,
Great river flows
        an arrow in flight.
I hear the winged general
        once landed here,
The setting sun
        mourns the Prince of Kaiping.

As a young man he joined in Zhu Yuanzhang troops and helped overthrow the Mongol Yuan Dynasty. Later he was promoted to general. He died of disease and in 1369 Zhu Yuan-zhang awarded him the posthumous title of Prince of Kaiping.
